The class warms up with gestures and then generally has two long poses. The studio is fully equipped with easels, taborets, etc.

Weekly life drawing sessions Thursdays 7:00-10:00pm and Sundays 1:30-4:30pm. Generally art models are nude. Poses typically last at least one full 3-hour session, and may continue to the next session. About once a month we hold a short pose session and periodically have poses involving multiple models. The atmosphere is relaxed. Both groups that meet here have been in existence for well over a decade, and have experienced professional artists as core members. Yet beginners are always welcome. We provide some easels. $20 per artist. Instructed figure drawing and painting workshops are offered periodically.

Each week a single pose is featured for the entire evening; ideal for painters. We're a very casual group. The studio has easels, chairs, benches and small tables to work from. Bring your own art supplies. Please be courteous and respectful to everyone but especially to our art models. It's a tough job! In case a model is posing nude, please be careful when opening the door to the studio. Some models allow pictures for reference, some don't--always ask the organizers before taking any pictures.

Life Drawing. $20 per session. No experience necessary, but the class is mostly self-guided. Bring along paper, pencils, charcoal and erasers or whatever your preferred medium is. Chairs and easels will be provided. Casual, friendly environment.
• Wednesdays 7:00-9:00pm. Short poses. Typical format is: three 2-minute gestures, three 5-minute poses, a 15-minute pose, a 30-minute pose, and a 45-minute pose.
• Thursdays 7:00-10:00pm. Long pose. The model retains the same pose for 3 hours, and returns the following week with the same pose. The model will pose in 20 to 25 minute increments and then take a 5 to 10 minute break.

Our studio is on the second floor and has 12-foot tall windows (with shades), providing ample natural light if desired. We can also use spot-lighting for a more dramatic lighting effect on the model. $10 per session. Pay at the door; cash, check or credit accepted. • Expressing Yourself - Studio Oil. This workshop will focus on the intuitive side of the painting process; students will be encouraged to paint very quickly from a live model. We will do exercises on using color, composition and brushstrokes to add a dimension of expression to your work.
• The Figure - Alla Prima. This class is about painting the figure and portrait alla prima (wet into wet) and the techniques used to create a fresh, direct response to our subjects. By learning to simplify what we see, we become better able to paint our subjects with greater clarity.

Atelier 3-D offers opportunities for beginners and advanced sculptors to practice mastering the processes and techniques for sculpting the human figure. Structured weekend workshops and ongoing 6-week sessions (using both male and female nude models in the same pose for 18-hrs) allows students to created accurate representations. Working in water-based clay, participants develop skills necessary to model the figure and finish a large piece up to 20 inches while receiving personal attention throughout each session. All classes include model fees, tools, model stands, clay and one bisqueware firing.
